So long, my dear school. I really lucked out with my first full time grown up teaching job. I have missed you, I do miss you, and I will miss you. Especially having Michelle just down the hall with an unlimited supply of laffy taffy and crisco cookies.
Our moving away festivities were actually wonderful- not even sad. The Dorius family mexican fiesta was so great.
For our going away party, we rented a bouncy castle and enjoyed the wonderful summer air in our backyard. Adam and I always talk about how great Utah summers are.
Our road trip out to the district was long, but we enjoyed lots of weird camping and grasslands along the way. We camped in Wyoming and Nauvoo Illinois, where we were able to go to the Nauvoo temple and explore the town. Then to Indianapolis to stay with Adam's brother in law Brett, where he lovingly let us use his shower.
Finally, we arrived! We slept on Jordan and Amy's couch for the first week while we searched for an apartment. We love them and are eternally indebted- especially for initiating us into their friend crew. Adam started his job as a Junior Finance Associate of a non-profit that does malaria work in Africa. I searched and search for a teaching job, and started working at a
vegan bakery.
It seems like a lot of our free time in spent trying to get out of the city (climbing, tubing, hiking, traveling). For our birthdays we went to NYC (which has turned into an annual tradition). The highlight was getting front row tickets to Chicago. So great.
In continuing our birthday celebrations, we enjoyed lots of vegan treats, time with friends, and burning our feet on the hot sand.

Our most recent adventure is hiking / climbing / camping the Appalachian trail to a great spot called Annapolis Rocks with Jordan and Amy. Aside from the middle-aged ghost lady who hiked in work clothes and set up her hammock with us at 10pm, it was completely wonderful. I can't wait to go back again in the fall.
This summer is ending too quickly. I will start teaching in just a couple of weeks, but I think there are still plenty of adventures to be had. Especially with friends coming to visit soon.
